well, actually I guess it locks a couple hours before reset?
But general idea - paradise uses a different gearing system, no ark passives so you just play base class. Elysian is for farming gear/upgrade mats, crucible is fight a boss to unlock higher tiers elysian and compete with others of same class. Hell is the reward kinda portion. You get keys weekly based on your crucible ranking, even if it is dead last place there is a minumum reward of 3 blue keys.
So at least dip your toes into a crucible run to get ranked before stuff locks in before reset for your free keys. Keys are entry to hell, rng jumps for rewards. Pretty good value and important for progression.

Elysian tickets - 5 from reset, hell boxes (only take other options really suck or you're pushing like top 100), paradise exchange for dismantled gear pieces, once a week 1 for 3k gold (again, only if hard pushing), sometimes drops from field boss, +1 weekly with azena's blessing.
Crucible tickets - doing elysian or buy with silver from paradise exchange.

You generally do all of them if you can. Clearing a crucible level unlocks next level of elysian. Higher lvl of elysian drops better gear to clear harder crucibles.
You get clear rewards off crucible, now whether you wanna compete a little for better rankings in crucible (higher tier and faster kill times) against other players is up to you. But you get rewards like better keys.
Hell is where the majority of the loot is gonna come from.
Some people if they have loads of characters and hate the whole system might just do a crucible and call it a season for pushing. You'll get rewarded the minumum hell keys weekly even with just 1 crucible run.
But if this is a main character, its helpful to have more crucible rewards.

(depends on your luck in the armour boxes) but being able to use your awakening twice should make it more comfy

Separate from crystalline aura. I wouldn't count on getting rich off the embers. As Yoatzin said its good on classes that are mana starved. You get like...10 fusions/day of login. The leap essences are kinda convenient.

that's the most reasonable thing to do
you can get away with 2-3 lvl 8s
but without engraving books or anything super flashy ( like an amazing bracelet )
