Honestly get to 1680 and start getting ancient stuff so you look properly geared

well this person will likely not do kaz hm anytime soon, but u dont need awakening for any pattern.

but the higher overall ilv of the group, the better SHOULD the dps be, in which they trust you to shield most of the chip dmg and DR the heavy hitters, if they fuck up they use a pot
unless the dmg is back to back and their pot is in cd, you focus on damage
thats where good sups shine, class knowledge, raid knowledge, and the ability to improvise or act depending on whats going on, since raids are mostly rng on normal patterns
but it'll be long before you check all the boxes, so go slowly and focus on buffs and shields
learn or ask around which patterns can be DRed or just shielded

I would use your unbound gold to work on your main, GL has some cheap relic books you can get. Then if you're doing solo raids on alts or something use the bound gold for astrogems and karma
You can also get destiny stones from Hell to do free taps on alts karma
Buying books for alts before your main doesn't seem like the best option. Especially when they're only 1680 and you really don't need books until 1720+ ish

You can play 1 single char just fine to endgame if you have realistic expectations. You wont be on par with people who have played for 4 years, have 10k hours and a roster of 6+ characters. So don't concern yourself about "catching up". Make 1 char, play at your own pace. Use the events available to you and you can play f2p perfectly fine

Well a lot of it is catching up to KR. They have ~8 of them released before we even got the game. Raids are still regular occurances tho. It is a raiding sim after all. We got 2 new raids in November & a new one is coming in april

What on earth do Fromsoft games have to do with anything? How are these bosses anything at all like Fromsoft bosses? Never fought a boss in a Souls game where I had to figure out that I needed the boss to attack random objects around the arena so that I could then attack that object and get a buff that doesn't really tell you what it does, but actually you need that buff to do any damage to the boss

If honing is your prerogative anyway. If you need gold for like karma/ark grid/etc then bound gold might be of more value to you

if the gold is ROSTER bound it doesnt matter, you can use it for KT, if its specifically CHARACTER bound then no, but only hell has char bound gold (and the new guardian raid event i guess)
one solo raid and that issue is solved tho
the only thing you need to do to get a char to north vern is play like 5 minutes, get the music sheet and go to your SH on that new char, nothing complicated
the issue is that you still need to hone to get more KTs, thing that will be solved in 2 weeks~ if you wait
