No, fusing cannot change from t3 to t4.

You can turn t3 into t4 at the gem npc in town, but note that it will drop the lvl by 2 and it cannot go from t4 to t3

Generally spreaking, its mostly preferable to have t4 gems despite the 2 lvl drop since they give atk power bonus. There are some class/spec exceptions where they have a lot of damage loaded onto 1 skill where a high t3 dmg gem may be preferable to a -2lvl t4.

Guardian's will = your daily run. If you do not do your daily run, it will convert to rest bonus. If you've already run it today and are sitting at 80, at next reset you'll still be at 80.

Ye th 2 main things that matter are willpower and order the gems start with a high amount of willpower so you need the hope you hit the willpower rolls to reduce it, for example if it starts at 8 and you roll 5 willpower that means that gem will only take 3 out of the 12 or whatever willpower the core has, purple is 8/leg 12/relic 15. Then order is what gets you the stat bonuses from the core so again if you hit 5 willpower and then like 5 order order then youll only need 5 order from another gem or gems to get the bonus. The cores have different order thresholds purple is just 10 order then relic goes up to 20 order points leg is up to 14 order points

And incase its not clear gems are what you put into the core so you equip the core but if you have no astrogems on then the core does jack shit

I feel like starting over but according to the beginner and returner's guide linked here it seems that the game gives you a ticket to bring you right around 1700 ilvl, is this something I should be using right away? I haven't played in more than a year so I'm practically a beginner, I feel like experiencing the game again from the start but is that just not worth the time?

There is a free 1640/Tier 4 power pass & a Mokoko Express available to boost progression to 1700+. I would HIGHLY recommend using them as they are temporary and it will never get easier to progress than with those. You only get 1!!! power pass so make sure you're happy with the class you choose to boost.

For people who want to experience the story I typically recommend making 2 characters. 1 to jump to endgame, 1 to play story. If the story gets boring you can play endgame & if the endgame gets too overwhelming you can play the story.

Normally the traditional progression is extremely long, grindy and you have to suffer through tons of dead content before you can get to any relevant endgame BUT if Feb a lot of that stuff is being removed. In Feb you'll be bale to play up to 1580 by just questing without any grind. It makes a massive difference in the story experience

you can get the pass and get to endgame right away now, and again in february with the next pass and express

february makes it easier to bring up characters without that

(still not as effectively, its still most efficient to take advantage of the passes and events when offered)

they added solo modes to raids, currently all the way up to 1680, use those to get a feel for the raids, and watch some videos to see the advanced mechs before jumping into the group versions

can also join learner raids w/ other people who are doing it for the first or second time

There is also currently a mokoko bootcamp for new/returning players below ilvl 1700. People tend to be more lenient towards mokokos (you get a little leaf like ff14 sprouts), and they have some in game incentive to take at least one per party. Soulfist can be a bit of a trickier class to play, so it could take some time to relearn the class.

How supports are treated/utilized has kinda changed since the early days. Bard generally doesn't heal as often since they have the highest opportunity cost to heal out of all the classes. Supports are mainly dps batteries and damage mitigation to allow for more dps uptime. A good support is somewhere in the ballpark of 40-50% dps increase.

Hello! I'm looking to return to the game (Kind of, I only have 35 hours in the game) but i'm having a hard time picking a class. The only thing I'm not overly interested in is the casters. Are there any classes in particular that are missing in group content? I'm also interested in making sure the class is good in PvP as well.

Bosses move a lot, you need to make sure bare minimum that soul absorber and void strike are within your maelstrom window. The other part about it is that it’s a full spec secondary crit class but you get punished for not having close to max available crit rate because your crit sources are so low. So although you could call it a single or 2 gem class, aspects of things needed for high performance and consistency are very high investment (ideal bracelets, gems, books)

Would not recommend manually leveling, it’s a slow and tedious gearing process atm (think months to catch up to the pass level). Though we’ll get some improvements to this later if you want more characters or to experience the story. And this ^

i would say if you want to read the story (some people do), do it with feb update, they will change the gearing system

(knowledge transfers also works, it also gives the gear)
