The only thing I'm worried with machinist is micromanaging the drone. I'm also usually a builder spender type with a big payoff at the end, but I'm open to try something different

Deadeye Pistoleer - Non positional.
Basically using spells with a priority system. Essentially button mashing.

Deadeye Enhanced Weapon - Back Attack focused.
A lot of room for growth as you master the class and the raid. Basically cycling shotguns over 8s or so on a 20s second cooldown.

Machinist Evo - Non positional
Technically a builder spender, but your building takes 4s, and you spend your transform for 20s. Very sweaty, so-so output. 2 gem class. Has a combo system in transform. Emphasis on cycling spells efficiently. Deceptively beefy and can take punishment, but does not rely on being beefy. Makes learning raids easier, but squeezing out the maximum potential of the class is where the challenge is. Most evo alts generally underperform due to this.

Machinist AT - Non positional
Can hit the boss from multiple angles and multiple ranges. Sends spells in pairs. Pianoesque gameplay. Has resource issues - food is mandatory as you improve his gems/gear. Can "run out" of spells. Constant damage, and not a builder spender. Very mobile. Using transform is detrimental to dmg output with t4. Micromanaging your drone is basically necessary to squeeze out maximum damage, but it's pretty not as taxing as an RTS game for comparison.

Enhanced weapon deadeye is very mobile and feels fluid, as you get a mini dash after every shotgun skill. But his damage scales with how close you are to the back of the boss, so youll find yourself in melee range for most of the time.

Pistoleer deadeye is non-positional and spammy

Evolutionary legacy machinist is almost a tank class. Youll be spending 90% of raid time in the form of an iron man, spamming buttons every half a second. Insanely spammy, and you have to attack the boss at all times in order to compete in DPS with all other classes. His main DPS skill is also a front attack

AT machinist is non postional. You dont really manage the drone while playing it, just press the same skills from far away. Very easy, too easy.

If you want maximum simplicity go with machinist, if you want room for improvement go with deadeye
