Lockout timers are a big contributor to that, since the shelf life of the game for that week for some is how fast you can clear 18 raids.
That playing tug-of-war with the FOMO of "If I don't get my raids done early, everyone else will be finished and I'll have no one to play with"
And unlike other forms of progression ( in other MMORPGs) where that FOMO ends when you're geared from raid drops, it is perpetuated by a weekly income of gold.

Unfortunately, solo raids are also just giga nerfed raids that can be done with minimal gear, so it's way less interactive

i'm imagining a new player experience that instead of leveling up your gear through honing etc, instead it would work like this:
- clear brel solo once. this unlocks kayangel
- clear kayangel solo once. this unlocks akkan, which you can do immediately
- etc up to the start of T4 when you start honing again
this would get new players into the habit of learning new raids and getting used to executing them and getting used to using sidereals etc
if they want to nerf them just make the regular patterns not hit as hard...

Gearing up in t3 relative to raid progression definitely needs to be looked into. What I'm saying is mainly pertaining to the design choice/implementation of solo raids
And I feel that solo raids from a newbie pov is ok the first few weeks, and then it quickly becomes a "that's it?" kind of feeling

the issue is that the "honeymoon" phase of the game isn't much of a honeymoon
there may be a fair few people who they'd compel with the end-game raiding experience who just aren't interested in the many-week process of getting to raid with any sort of difficulty

This is tier 4, so I have a 3rd line but these. Brand new accessories come with zero lines. You visit an accessory refining npc to roll them hoping for good damage lines. (You should get a free set of pre-rolled ones from the powerpass)
When you refine more lines onto an accessory you also get even more enlight points

I got zerker and deathblade and enjoy those but zerk feels a little low on dps and deathblade dies too quickly to aoe spam.
