I would like to get back into the game I played when it first came out. I spent 240 very enjoyable hours playing it, although I don't remember much about what I did, but what I do remember is that I had to log in with my four different characters to farm constantly so as not "to fall behind".

What I found most tedious was the boat map that you had to redone, constantly changing islands to attend quests at a certain time. At one point, I got really tired of it and I don't think I ever played the game again.

Have things changed much today? Are there new classes or new systems that simplify progression? And what about the player base?

the game gives you a ton of the early-game island stuff for low time investment now as well

playercount is obviously a lot lower than when game came out but it feels pretty good

Alts speed up progress but arent neccessary and by themselves are large investments in time and resources that you wont get back for over a year, you play alts if you want to play the game more and have different playstyles and characters to play. It has always been this way, the "needs 6 alts" thing was streamer propaganda at the start of the game that just became commonly accepted in the games community, you never needed alts you dont now. Islands have always been optional horizontal content you do not need to do islands and never have.

and is pre-cut with level 2 of each engraving

if you really want to u can start cutting white ones with double engraving and hope for a better roll but

yea you will run into being short on gold thats just how it is, its one of the progression stoppers but you get more gold overtime and can keep going

Hello, I'm new here, so hopefully in the correct channel.
I just came back to the game as a day one player after like 2+ years and heard something about 2 consecutive powerpasses. So does that mean I can use a powerpass now and another one in 3 days? Or won't I be able to use it on Valk on release when I use it now. Also, I have 1 ilvl 1370 and 3 ilvl 1250 chars. Would it make sense to use one pass on my main to catch up with the content, or is there enough fuel with ongoing events?

There is an active powerpass right now you can use. A 2nd one will be given out next wednesday alongside Valk release. They will stack so no rush to use them.
& at those ilvls your practically starting over anyway so I would pp the class you want to be your new main

so like the idea is to use the powerpass on one character to drop them at 1585 then you use express to get them to 1660, theres another event that comes with valk that is meant to help progress 1640-1680 so you overlap these two and youll have 1 very close to end game characxter, if you want to play valk save those events for her, but you can powerpass 1 other character to 1585

the other powerpass will just drop you at 1585

There is a new system that unlocks at 1585 called paradise though which gives you a bunch of materials to slowly raise that 1585 up over time.

it's impossible to be net positive RoI on alts nowadays unless you only do solo raids on them and skip all side systems

1680 makes the most gold but its alot lol, but like dont worry about it raising alts is alot of investment and these days you play altrs more because you want to play the game more then funnel resources to main

Like i would never recommend someone raw tap alts up outside of events unless they are 1585 already and get a bunch of good rewards from hell mode in the paradise system

(paradise system can give you really insane boosts to progression for each character)

so like your paladin that you powerpass to 1585 will be able to eventually reach 1640-1660 pretty easily but itll just take time

every week with the paradise system you run these like chaos dungeon like content where it drops gear only used in paradise you then fight a boss with that gear (no other systems are used for it) based off how you do you get ranked on a leaderboard, even if you cant kill the boss cause of bad rng you still will get 3 keys into another mode called hell.
