The way I remember it is X is Hex, Bar is Star.

If you dont know how to check the islands for the day, theres a compass icon on the right of your screenn. you can quickly check what the rewards for that day's islands are. Sometimes theres gold there. you can do 1 island a day on weeekdays, and I think 2x (1x morning + 1 evening) on the weekends. It's random which island gives gold, and if they show up at all

Yes. The strategy atm is clear crucible to the percentage to get gear, equip gear clear it, repeat for crucible 2 and then run elysium 3 for gear
