they have shards, not a lot but it should help coz if you're mass honing that char to get out of t3 asap you will lack a lot of shards, it also speeds up the mats to craft their gear.
if it's an alt and it already has all the brel ancient pieces, probably no, raw gold is better

There are channels for each zone. When one fills up you cant move to it BUT there are extra buffer spaces available. A taxi is when you party up with someone from a full channel then move to their full channel

the item level difference is the same, so for the purpose of getting your ilvl up generally getting armor is more efficient
in your case, the ilvl between your pieces and the crafted pieces is the same, so it doesn't really matter
you're not moving on until every piece is 15 and every piece is relic

the one on the top of the UI is kurzan fortress and that gives the armor/gear pieces to transfer over and has unlimited entry iirc for now, and then the "abidos operation" is kurzan front which replaces chaos dungeon and is daily
