I kept getting the itch to play again, since it still had one of the best combat feels in any MMO I touched and the raids were super fun; my question is now:

I know that my main has a bunch of cosmetics and stuff that I had back then, but I also know that my iLvl is probably not even above 1450 or so- is it even worth for me as a returning player to keep playing my old character?

You don't have the correct type of gold. To craft tradeable items (including Oreha), you need to pay the crafting cost with Unbound gold. The alternative way to craft Orehas with Bound gold is to unlock the farm at Stronghold level 10 and craft bound Orehas with the farm materials.

you can buy a south kurzan pass for 1585, skipping the whole armor grinding time then just worry about honing there, but if you have 0 gold and 0 alts i also doubt you will make it in a month, its not cheap, unless you get super mega lucky with the current guardian raid event, which is unlikely

a north kurzan pass gets you to 1600, saving 3 whole hones (x6)

but even then, you have no mats, no orehas, no gold, i dont think its possible without spending even more

or having an extremely insane amount of luck with drops

the event is not aimed to new players at all

even if its good, not getting it is not the end of the world

we will get another event (probably even more juicy) in august

I also think Valtan might be the hardest, but maybe only because its the first and when new players come to the game and get to fight valtan pretty soon after they started it can be overwhelming.. If you keep playing surge then yes you don't switch the surge gem, you keep it at lv10 T3, but you still want the rest of the gems at t4 for the ark power they provide
