When he's transitioning to the final phase, valtan will proceed to strike each area of the arena four times, starting at where you initially stand. He will not hit the same area twice. After he's done with that, he will ground pound, which as you said chain knocking you up. When he is done with that he will aoe the whole arena with where his front is as the safe area. Then he "dies".

I can't help but feel looking at the character sheet that I've lost some power. I;m finding it really ahrd to tell whats actually active because underneath each engraving is a star which isn't lit. That tells me it' not active, but it really is active. Very weird and not very user friendly.
At least with the old system I slap on a necklace and few dots light up. Each thershold you hit "Grudge level 2 applied" etc.
