I believe it is advisable and recommended for new players that are not worried about jumping the story (the main story they can do in an alt later)
But yea, could be overhelming, so idk event is almost over so better to use rightaway in my opinion, if there was more time he could do for some days like from start, have some fun, get used to the IU and maybe some low ilvl honing whatever and then use the pass, but time is running out in the event
I mean they designed the event for new players cuz now tehre is a bunch of new stuff
Like the engraving support, solo mode etc
So altough overwhelming, I think it is fine for new players...
