My friends said I should now focus on getting one or two alts to 1580 instead of pushing for 1610+ on my main, because there isn't much point in that, since my gems and cards will keep me out of pugs anyway and more gold from alts will be faster prog on main. You guys agree?

as for worth investment you can make the math. use maxroll calc how much on average 1540-1580 costs and then calc how many weeks you would need to make it back as surplus, if you deem it worth it -> go for it, if not keep them 1540, focus on main and wait for the next event

Paladin is the weakest shield wise, artist is very good, bard is very good unless everyone is hitting from 10 miles away

Your stats improve with every hone. That doesn't stop after 1620

You can see exactly how each hone improves each piece when you're honing.

And the % increase can vary depending on how you hone. Strictly honing your weapon will be different than honing only armor
