Yes , you get 2 north vern passes after completing the north vern story. The storyline is what will drive you crazy. Getting your Ilvl up by honing without power pass is A lot of xtra work & time .

As for honing, selling items on the auction house isn't the best way to hone. If you are looking for materials to hone you need to be doing your Chaos Dungeons and Guardian Raids every day, as for gold when you do get to ilvls where it starts requiring gold to hone your primary sources of gold will be Legion Raids and the Kayangel Abyssal Dungeon to start with, with anything else serving as a sort of supplementary source.
