Gatekeeping exists because Raid Lockouts, or Jail
Jail - a concept of being raid locked out because if people leave after gate 1, 2 etc. The only raids that can be done are 3, 4. And ideally you want to do all gates of a Raid, so with Brelshaza, this issue appears to have ballooned. If you clear 3, but not 4, like if you raged and made somebody leave, you are now stuck on gate, 4 and cannot do 3 again.
Busses exist to save people from Raidlockouts. (Maybe) other benefits, clearing raids, being, carried, yata yata.
Does Smilegate benefit from Busses? People swipe and pay the Bus drivers. So probably.
So this is Lost Ark at its core, once you reach Brelshaza, Now what I dont understand.
Why do raidlock outs exist in the first place? Surely just letting people re do content with less or no rewards would be beneficial, and not only would teach mechanics and foster a better enviroment for new players.
The current new and returning player experience is get carried, even at item level, maybe you learn a mechanic or two, and then thats it. I only know Valtan so well, because I wiped to it on release, over and over and over, until it was learned.
If raidlock outs were removed, players could bus more if they wanted to. Smilegate benefits from busses because people spend money.
Seems like a win/win to me.
I dont think busses would get out of hand, because there would be groups that just play normally and people that would bus. So what am I missing?
This seems like its the most simplest solution, it aint the mats, the shards, the chaos gates, the dailies even.( Issues of their own.)
