Just to clear this up - to go from full legendary to full relic/ancient week 1 - for those trapped at full legendary - step 1: do Vykas Valtan, buy box - 29 materials each. Hone two armour pieces each; step 2: do brel 1-2 - buy box - convert one relic to ancient - hone ancient to +16 (25 brel ancient mats left) step 3: do 3-4 - buy box - convert second relic piece to ancient (20 mats left), hone both ancient to +19 and you are at 1520; step 4: do 5-6 - buy box (19 mats left) convert third relic piece to ancient to get your relic weapon with the 29 relic mats

that's why kting or powerpassing cancels out the rewards

I just returned, didn't do clown raid. Currently 1490. Should I hone to 1500 and do brel 1-4 or just do brel 1-2 until I get ancient gear then hone to 1500?

since you'll get stuck after getting all 5 chests on 1-2
since after 5 chests
rewards no longer give x2

You should do Brel 1-2, honing past +15 on relic gear isn’t advisable as it loses efficiency when gear transferring to ancient.
