When building 5x3+2 why does a class engaving on +2 need a 9/9 stone - when if you changed it to a regular engraving, you can use a 9/7 stone instead

all 5x3 + 2 setups normally use one of the two ability stone engravings to hit 10, you can't cleanly do that with any combination of accessories

so you necessarily have to have more nodes on the stone to deal with extra waste

Fwiw, I do think people regard PLC as a decent benchmark because you have to have completed g56 brel which are some of the most challenging content in the game, to the extent that you can’t just brute force through the mechs completely. Also, they’re not exactly cheap to bus, so someone would have to invest a lot to get it without clearing it themselves.

But yeah, doesn’t say much more than that. There are plenty of people with plc who are bad. Like me
