Once you hit 1370 you will be crafting legendary gear to hone further, you get them from 2 places, Abyss dungeon HARD mode and Argos raid.
For "Optimal" crafting, you will be getting 4 abyss dungeon pieces (Chosen) and 2 argos (Preordained / Harsh oath), one of the abyss pieces will be the weapon.
Abyss nets you a total of 48 materials to craft (including first time completon on both Aira's Oculus and Oreha Preveza) AND buying both chests at the end of each, you will be using 45 to craft the weapon and whatever 3 armor pieces. Trade the other 3 abyss mats for 6 leapstones.
Then you will do Argos raid, you only need gate 1 and buying the chest from it to craft your other 2 pieces (including first time chest), it gives you 26 Argos blood in total, and you need 24 for the 2 pieces, the rest of the argos blood (you should be getting 40 total if you ran the 3 gates [you should, always], so 40-24=16) will be traded since they give you 3 great honor leapstones. 2 Argos set is more than enough, never craft argos 5 set coz literally no one uses that set anymore, it's useless if you dont have another person with the opposite set to combo in your party.

hello, I was very undecided about choosing my 2nd character.

I tried pet summoner, I didn't like it, I tried sorc, it's not bad. but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

Things I want from a character: it has to be female :D, it should be ranged or medium durability melee and if possible it should be self-sufficient (such as shield or heal)

I think the closest characters to these are slayer and shadow hunter, but I'm undecided. what are your opinions

Your "sustain" is more about your ability to avoid mechanics than it is about "self healing" or self shielding, while there are characters (that aren't Support) that have shields like Gunlancer, Destroyer and Scouter having some as well there is no real self healing, tanking or anything like that in the game outside of your HP Potions.

sorcress / summoner / slayer

sorc/summoner both ranged dps. both have burst builds which are the most popular

slayer newest class, also has a burst build which is very popular

sorc summoner a bit squishier

sorc especially you need to know the boss patterns if you want to not die/do good damage on the burst (igniter) spec

slayer is very strong right now but expensive to gear because of its popularity

You don't have to choose between them, once you reach NVern you get 2 Power Passes to make 2 more characters with and reach the same point in the game as the first one. That way you can try all 3.
You also get a 3rd Power Pass for a 4th character once you clear Punika(I think).
