Yes but they thing is you don't ever get to see mechs unless your team has horrible dps and half the time you get 1500+ joining

Question: I'm having real trouble getting reaper to put out any real dps and feeling like the 5 tripods I'm missing just aren't dropping for me, it's my highest ilvl character, but i'm debating dropping for a gunlancer for the synergy and ease of play, would it be worth it?

I think reaper is hard to play but it can do the DPS - just have to improve your uptime more and yeah the level 5 tripods are important too. There is also more general stuff like your weapon and acc quality that I don’t have any knowledge about
Fundamentally, if you enjoy playing it, this should make you want to improve its damage
I’ve seen reapers do good damage and play well
Gunlancer is completely different to reaper in how it plays, in my view
In some ways it’s also harder for it to do damage in a lot of fights, just because you lack mobility
You do more come just a synergy/utility bot in some parties
