would suggest, first of all, to take it easy and try to do some horizontal if you have the time to get some important stuff for your char, talking about honing, mats can be obtained daily/weekly from different places, including the event shop, about raiding, i suggest going into a learning discord or getting into a guild/discord community so people can help you while you're still a bit new, pugging when you're new is not really the most pleasant experience and can be hard, but if you dont know the fights and wanna get into experienced lobbies, trust me, dont, find a learning party

item level is the least of your worries, how your whole character is geared is important

ilv is one, then engravings, correct combat stats, high correct combat stats, gems, card set

of course you will be far from being perfect in everything, but sometimes people have some wrong things due to inexperience / not asking and pugs will notice, thus no one joining you or no one accepting you

well, some instances can be played with other people while you go thru the story, however, no one do them in a party, they all solo their stuff

sadly, that goes allllllll the way to the start of endgame

so, look at the game as a solo player only adventure while reading the story and watch the cool cutscenes for like 30~ hours or 40

if you have friends, you all have to play on the same server if you wanna see each other physically

its the best resource-wise, you get not only hone mats, but silver and gems

guardian raids give tradable mats, you can use or sell them for extra profit

you wanna do them anyway coz they give something called a Galewind rune, important for like... most if not all classes in the game

you also have weekly stuff, event shop, one time stuff like islands or towers

and other places and ways

Your skills later on, when you're high enough ilvl and have your sets and runes, tripods, higher skill levels, your skills will be hitting for like 40 million and your normal attack will hit for like 100k or something

WoW, GW2, ESO, the basic attack that you have in said games. Like WoW auto attacking is built in to character action, in GW2 its your 1 skill, in ESO its your left click (heavy attack on right click), etc, etc

In Lost Ark, it is basically not really used

Yeah. Press K. When you put skill points into your skills it will open up "skill effects" (you'll likely see them called tripods more often as that is the KR nomenclature) that you can select and they will alter your skills
