typically you want to convert to brelshaza gear set as fast as possible, because you get free ilvl for converting to brelshaza gear pieces

50 (starting tier 1): You get 302 ilv gear, hone to +9 (?) to get to rohendel, +15 for yorn
Clear yorn chaos dungeon (or buy from Auction House) to get gear at ilv 802 (+0)
+9 to get 960, clear feiton, +15 to get 1100, clear punika and clear punika chaos dungeon to get +0 1302 ilv armors
+9 to get 1340 to clear south vern
+15 to get 1370 (hard cap, cant hone anymore), your next step is to get legendary armors, and for that i will leave a copy pasta after this copypasta
+6 legendary all the way to +15 to be able to enter your first legion raid (DONT craft the legendary legion raid set, skip it)
+17 legendary to be able to craft relic gear (you can hone this legendary set to +20 without losing anything, hone transfer between legendary and relic is 1:1)
+20 to get into brelshaza 1-2 normal mode (you can hone your relic armors further to be able to do more, but its NOT cost efficient)
From Brelshaza you will get mats to craft a higher relic armor set, when you hone transfer you win item levels and your gear goes lower honing (like from blue to legendary), it's a soft reset
When you get to 1540 ilv (doesnt matter if full brel relic or not) you can do hard brelzhasa, she will drop ancient tier crafting items for ancient tier crafting armors, same as legendary to relic its a 1:1 hone transfer, but you need a brel relic to transfer to brel ancient. @spice tapir

LEGENDARY SET
Once you hit 1370 you will be crafting legendary gear to hone further, you get them from 2 places, Abyss dungeon HARD mode and Argos raid.
For "Optimal" crafting, you will be getting 4 abyss dungeon pieces (Chosen) and 2 argos (Either Preordained or Harsh Oath), one of the abyss pieces will be the weapon.
Abyss nets you a total of 48 materials to craft (including first time completon on both Aira's Oculus and Oreha Preveza) AND buying both chests at the end of each, you will be using 45 to craft the weapon and whatever 3 armor pieces. Trade the other 3 abyss mats for 6 leapstones.
Then you will do Argos raid, you only need gate 1 and buying the chest from it to craft your other 2 pieces (including first time chest), it gives you 26 Argos blood in total, and you need 24 for the 2 pieces, the rest of the argos blood (you should be getting 40 total if you ran the 3 gates, so 40-24=16) will be traded since they give you 3 great honor leapstones. 2 Argos set is more than enough, never craft 5 set coz literally no one uses that set anymore, it's useless if you dont have another person with the opposite set to combo with in your party.

Once you hit 1370 you will be crafting legendary gear to hone further, you get them from 2 places, Abyss dungeon HARD mode and Argos raid.
For "Optimal" crafting, you will be getting 4 abyss dungeon pieces (Chosen) and 2 argos (Preordained / Harsh oath), one of the abyss pieces will be the weapon.
Abyss nets you a total of 48 materials to craft (including first time completon on both Aira's Oculus and Oreha Preveza) AND buying both chests at the end of each, you will be using 45 to craft the weapon and whatever 3 armor pieces. Trade the other 3 abyss mats for 6 leapstones.
Then you will do Argos raid, you only need gate 1 and buying the chest from it to craft your other 2 pieces (including first time chest), it gives you 26 Argos blood in total, and you need 24 for the 2 pieces, the rest of the argos blood (you should be getting 40 total if you ran the 3 gates, so 40-24=16) will be traded since they give you 3 great honor leapstones. 2 Argos set is more than enough, never craft 5 set coz literally no one uses that set anymore, it's useless if you dont have another person with the opposite set to combo with in your party.

You can do that whenever you want. Likely after you've finished your daily vertical progression stuff. You do need to do a variety of horizontal content for things like Runes and Skill Point Potions

The Hyper Express doesn't give enough to guarantee upgrades on your gear, it gives you enough to significantly help so you end up spending or needing to get less of the materials to upgrade your gear.

Its just a resource loss. Lost Ark uses a pity system where you will inevitably get the upgrade. There is no down grading or breaking or loss of an item on failure

For one you use matchmaking, you can try to solo it but it just takes longer. Also there are mechanics involved that you should learn and this becomes more important as you get further in the game particularly when you get to Guardians like Caliligos and Hanumatan (this is like 1490+ ilvl though so thats a ways off for you).

Yes. If you got that free norht vern power pass it means you've finished the story up to a certain point (i.e just North Vern story). You'll get another one when you use that one.
But yes, it will let you boost an alt up to level 50, ilvl 302. Just use the ticket in your inventory and it will "apply" to your account. You'll then need to go back to character selection, make another new character if you do not have another one already and you can use the power pass on it from the character selection screen.

Pretty much, yeah.
So you can power pass two alts with the two free ones you get and you can decide how you want to proceed from there with your main. However if you have the Story Express active on this current character of yours I would recommend continuing through that all the way through regardless. You can't pass it to another character and you can't reclaim it on another one either even if you delete the character that it is active on.

We'll be getting another free power pass allegedly (according to the roadmap) with Slayer's release.
To clarify, currently we have the free 1340 ilvl power pass available from Artist's release, but based on what the roadmap has said we are going to be getting another one when Slayer releases as well as a "progression" event which is suspected to be another Hyper Express event.
Hyper Express events are catchup events to help people get to certain higher ilvls, for instance the one we have running right now expedites and assists the process of getting to ilvl 1445 from ilvl 1340.
