Excavating is running around competing for nodes
Min-Max excavating is saving your minigame for purple nodes (which can be tough, if theres multiple people running the same map as you, on the other hand, you can restart minigames if you failed early)

I'm just going to share a screenshot I just took for my exca. This is relatively on a similar stat purple tool, no minigame. 10,500 essence. With fishing I would only be able to craft 1/2 of this much in a single 10,500 essence trip.

Personal recommendation: For either of those 2 have 2 tools: One for minigame (reduced difficulty and more rewards)
and the other for basic material gain

Swap the minigame one whenever you play the minigame, else you use the other

Legendary and Relic tools? Expensive gambling that could lead to a longterm gain, but its high investment and a huge gamble

the way ilvl is calced is the ilvl of all the gear added up divided by 6, so u need avg of 1460 ilvl pieces to hit 1460

Just from personal experience the 3/3 roster is like the perfect setup of fun : efficient your top 3 starting out are the supports / gl and then the rest are dps perfect balance as you have more than enough resources to funnel
