With recent update they added this which is a good temporary set

Awakening is basically gathering copies of cards

1 additional copy = 1 awakening
2 additional copies (3 in total) = 2 awakening
3 additional copies (6 in total) = 3 awakening
4 additional copies (10 in total) = 4 awakening
5 additional copies (15 in total) = 5 awakening

So you need 15 (+ the basic one, so 16) the same cards to fully awaken it

They sum up with other cards from the same set, so if you have one card at 3 awakening and another one at 2, you have "5 awakening bonus"

For the set I've shown it's 12/18/30 awakenings that are important

what i did to take advantage of the story express, i made a new character and then started the story quest so it was active on that character, then i knowledge transferred him to north vern for 600g, and then honed up and did yorn/punika and it gives you free gear to get to each part since you have the story express checked, the ONLY issue to this method is that you will NOT get the final rewards from the story express, however you can cut the time of building a new character to t3 exponentially, and then you can start the express mission to go from 1340-1445 for free
