So 11-235 will mean that the second, third and fifth balls are black and should be caught

Not typically, no. Just keep equipping the gear you get from playing, level up your damaging skills as you get skill points and you're going to be fine. The leveling experience isn't difficult by much stretch.

I'm not sure if you want to dump honing success mats on just getting to +7.

When you get +15 on all your Blue/Purple gear you'll be 1370, from that point you'll need to do Oreha Hard Mode/Argos Abyss Raid to get Legendary Gear that lets you hone past 1370.

You'll be able to transfer your blue/purple +15 gear into the Legendary gear to make it +6 (same stats, same ilvl) and progress from there.

Doing Oreha hard mode is likely the easiest, quickest route to that since you can likely find a free carry in the party finder

You get your ship at Wavestrand and it sends you to Tortoyk, you do Tortoyk then you go to Anikka, then when you're done there you go to Arthetine and once finished with Arthetine you head to North Vern and thats where you'll hit 50 if you didn't already hit it in Arthetine.

You get 302 ilvl gear from the end of Shushire but you have to do North Vern story to get there.

North Vern and Shushire is all post 50 stuff

I've done it multiple times on multiple regions.

Its always been two options; you can hit 50 and immediately do your chaos dungeon for 302 ilvl gear or just go straight through North Vern story and through Shushire for the free set and just dismantle any gear you get out of the Chaos Dungeon afterwards for a little extra materials
