Do people just keep honing at this starting rate (failing, keep honing, worst case you get 100% after a row of failing), or do people actually use additional materials or even special materials already?

All classes are good, but those are my personal thoughts on all those classes. I personally have every single female class in the game. Choose whatever is fun, but most martial artist and assassin classes feel not so hot until relic at 1445+.

If main is 1415 I'd still make efforts stacking materials for the main swap because cumulatively for you its going to be around 27k+ gold, 1500+ greater leaps, 894+ leaps, 76k+ guardian stones, 25k+ destruction stones, 200k+ shards, 900+ basic fusion, 470+ simple fusion. Thats "worst case" so like probably a decent number of pities and such
