but usually you trust your mates for the pings, if a person cant ping just switch roles from clone to ball

You transfer that one into the inventory (2nd button on the bottom at that npc)
And from the inventory you can transfer it onto your gear with 100% success chance
The "only" downside is, that you always have to transfer all 3 tripods on that drop, so you actually gain 1 level 5 tripod, but most likely ruin 2 others
It's still worth it, as level 4 tripods only have a 5% success chance

But since tripod update is around, I'd recommend to only care about the 6 most important tripods of your class and save them in the inventory (you'll get them 100% anyway then)
