Auto-boosting, auto-pick-up, conservation of boosts, and extra res are all nice. Also nice for guild weekly rough waters quests (repeatable over and over to stock up on guild points if needed). It is roster wide so all my alts have it for when they are doing their quests. Small price for some extra convenience. There is a similar ship skin from collectibles, but it doesn't come with the conservation feature. Definitely can skip the ship skin and go for the free collectible-earned skin instead if you want though.

i've unlocked 280 slots, which isn't the cap, and mine isnt filled out completely yet

the small stat bonuses add up, but never to anything really crucial.
the only important ones, and again, nothing to really worry about right now, is card sets that give you %damage to demons, as all the legion bosses are demons

i think its something like +60 is the cap to secondary stats from all horizontal content+card books
