Alright, hold on.

If you were to transfer the honed level of your current gear to the legendary, you will destroy the current piece including the tripods and you're left with the legendary at +6 and the tripods on that piece of gear.

If you have beneficial tripods on the current gear, you can copy it into a saved inventory system, and paste it onto the new legendary piece of the same slot.

I think you're misunderstanding this a bit. You can at any point transfer a skill perk upgrade onto another piece of gear with a % chance and build them up.

But it destroys the item you pull the one perk from, success or failure.

The way I did 4x3 for my supports was to keep 2 legendary rings with class3/useful3. Cut a stone, doesn't even need 7/7. Then buy a cheap 4th engraving leg book. Like drops/vital/magic stream.
Then the other 3 pieces of jewellery only need like 1 useful engraving, and are v cheap

most engravings don't scale linearly. As in, a lvl 3 is normally a lot more powerful than have 3 lvl 1 engravings. The spike in power normally comes from lvl 2 -> lvl 3.

Take awakening for example. Lvl 1 gives 10%. lvl 2 gives 25%. So a 15% increase. Lvl 3 however gives 50%. Which is a 25% jump from 2-3.

So getting to lvl 3 in your main 3 engravings, blessed, awakeneing and expert, is your priority.

How i do my engravings:
Buy books. Be it legendary or purple or w/e i need.
Cut a stone, ideally aiming for 7/7, but can fluctuate depending on quality of books.
then look for jewellery to fill out the rest. Its generally not the best idea to buy anything, before you've found all the pieces you need.
as you might buy a 5/3 Engraving1/Engraving2 accessory, then realise you're short on engraving 3, but can't find a piece to fit.

planning for engravings is key, to stop you wasting money.

also consider, that on EUC, as blue crystals are around 2k gold, that you're spending 178G per pheon. So one relic piece has a hidden 4-5k price tag attached

your main stat affects your attack power. The actual calculation for it is AP = sqrt(Mainstat x Weapon power / 6)

different skills have different calculations for how they determine how AP affects them.

i have no idea if you fixed it yet, but you're probably using a purple book +9 for your class engraving right? you need to use 5 accesories with +3 class engraving and +3 the rest of grudge, adre+barricade stone and books

comparing dps isnt gonna help you, each class gives its own equal synergy and utility, DI gives flat dmg synergy, RE gives atk spd and bck/front atk dmg synergy, scrapper gives flat dmg synergy, and reflux gives flat dmg synergy

burst classes are usually preferred in some cases because you skip mechanics

burst damage is meta, because legion raid bosses have set hp bar mechanics, burst dps is more consistant at moving from one mech straight to the next, whereas with consistant dps the boss is more likely to throw out normal attack patterns

the juice mats are generally only ever used on weapon honing, because its expensive, but if you use them on every hone you'll run out v fast

you'll always be a long way behind. you'll never earn enough gold or mats to keep up, or most likely catch up with current content.
your roster will always be low, your engravings won't be good for a long time, and you'll probably struggle to find MM groups.

BUT. play the game however you want to, don't let the fomo get to you. I'm not trying to shit on you, just trying to be realistic so you know what you're getting into
