You never wanna manually level to 50 after your first character.
PP(Power Passes) and KT(Knowledge Transfer) let you skip huge parts of the grind, saving tons of time.
PP completes everything, including side-quests and gives you a set of gear for the item level you skipped to.
PPs are used in the character selection screen.
PPs are given out during events and you get 2 North Vern PPs when you complete North Vern. You can also buy them with IRL money.
KT only completes the main story. You still have to hone your gear in between.
KT costs gold and is accessed in your Stronghold.

The KT to North Vern is VERY worthwhile for making alts. Saves massive time, cuz that's by far the longest story bit to skip.
It also levels your character up to lvl50 and gives you a set of i302 gear. No other KT does this.

You don't need to care about which engravings are on your Ability Stone in T1 and T2. At that point you only care about the Vitality it gives you, so facet any stone and equip it for some extra HP.
I can recommend grabbing some Blessed Aura engraving books from the Guardian Event shop. You need 20 Uncommon, Rare and Epic, then just equip Blessed Aura in both your engraving slots. This will help you heal yourself and teammates and will be enough until you reach T3.

Short sailing guide:
Estoque and Astray are the only good ships for general sailing. Astray is better, but is also expensive AF (around 1.5 million pirate coins to max) so you should max out Estoque first.
Eibern's Wound is only used for Ghost Ship; you only need lvl1 with Berald as crew.
Tragon can be slightly useful for Punika Sailing Co-op, but it's not important.

Crew:
Estoque: 3xPupuring+Legendary Cals+Rare/Uncommon Tasha is the best general setup.
Then if you wanna do Punika Sailing Co-op in Tempest waters you just swap out 1-2 sailors (usually Legendary Pupuring) for sailors with high Tempest resist so you reach a higher resist level vs Tempest.

Astray: Relic Blackfang+3xBarakas+Relic Wilhelm.
Then swap Legendary and Epic Barakas for Leg&Epic Wilhelm for Tempest sailing.
