2. my goal is to maximize my f2p abilities without having a bunch of the same class/class type, ie. 2 big dps (my artillerist + X class) and 4 support types for versatility. With that in mind:

• Is Destroyer a class that can be used for/as dps/is it good at all for newer-ish players or is it more support-like
• Out of the 3 gunner (male) classes, is it necessary to have more than one of them or is it redundant to have say, an artillerist and a sharpshooter in the same main 6 characters (i'm f2p so no extra slots for me T_T)
• Does Scrapper deal decent/good dps and would it function well as being one of the main two dps characters in a 6-character lineup, or would i be better off going Glavier. Alternatively, excluding Paladin and Bard what support-like class would be recommended/is there such a thing outside those two classes
• Paladin ability to solo content all the way to start of north vern: hard to do or easy? would a powerpass be recommended

destoyer is great, ive been liking him a lot as an alt, maybe not a main because hes slow af and very difficult to make work if boss moves alot or you dont know mechs

you dont need any specific amount of any classes lol, having a dps and a support is recommended tho, after that go for whatever

Estoque and Astray are the only good ships for general sailing. Astray is better, but is also expensive AF (around 1.5 million pirate coins to max) so you should max out Estoque first.

Tragon can be slightly useful for Punika Sailing Co-op, but it's not important.

Crew:
Estoque: 3xPupuring+Legendary Cals+Rare/Uncommon Tasha is the best general setup.
Then if you wanna do Punika Sailing Co-op in Tempest waters you just swap out 1-2 sailors (usually Legendary Pupuring) for sailors with high Tempest resist so you reach a higher resist level vs Tempest.

Astray: Relic Blackfang+3xBarakas+Relic Wilhelm.
Then swap Legendary and Epic Barakas for Leg&Epic Wilhelm for Tempest sailing.

The cheese you're referring to is saving a lot of Lv. 4 upgrades in the skill perk inventory, multiple pages of it, to 100% learn them when the update rolls out. Any upgrades on the armor and weapons you have themselves, will not be learned and will instead just disappear.

Nope. But even with different skill options you end up with 1 free slot for a damage gem. So throw in a Holy Sword gem there if you want :)

Then there's 2 flex skills you can swap in depending on the scenario/build (Sword of Justice/Light Shock and Holy Area).
That's 10 gems, leaving 1 slot open for a damage gem.

I prefer LOJ(Light of Justice) myself. It's about the same piety generation assuming all 5 hits on Holy Area hit, but they commonly don't so LOJ gives more piety on average. LOJ also has Super Armor, which Holy Area doesn't if you go for the -Cooldown tripod (or longer CD if you go for Super Armor tripod).
Ofc with the downside LOJ not having the -30% damage taken for allies in Holy Area. Still worth IMO, cuz better uptime on Holy Aura.

Think wardancer channel is your best bet if you want specific pointers. But yeah, generally engravings rarely change how a class feels for playing, as most engravings just improve damage. Relic sets are much more defining, especially dominion and nightmare set users
