That's to be expected early on, especially before 1370. Read build guides to know which engravings are good for your class, then keep accessories with those engravings when you get them.
Before 1370 I'd recommend focusing on the stats the accessories have rather than the engravings.
Try to grab the most important stat for your class. You can find which which stat this is in build guides. But as a general rule, only 3 stats are useful: Swiftness, Crit and Specialization.

Crafting them yourself saves a lot of gold vs buying them off market.

Stronghold also provides a way to easily spend your Life Skill Energy for bound materials you can craft stuff with.

There's quality which increases secondary armor stats (better quality = more stats) but **you'll be fast done with t1 so that you shouldn't care about that **
There's differnet kind of armor (abyss dungeons for example gives mats to craft purple armor) - yet again you're quick through t1, you don't need it

And if u end up finding them more enjoyable than your current main, you can switch em with a bit of effort

@tight tartan if you're unsure of what synergies mean, it's the 1-2 skills each class has that buff damage from party members.
Most of them equate to around 8% constant damage buff (some are situational or have higher buff, but not constant uptime). So assuming 3 synergy buffs from other teammates that's a solid +26% damage(roughly).
But ofc, bad/new players may not even be using the correct tripods to get these buffs, so it's a real toss-up in T1 and T2.
It's once you start getting into T3 that the bad players start to get weeded out. In T3 it's reliably better to use Matchmaking than going Solo.

It’s nice because it scales with your questing. For example, my main was ilvl 1100 but I was still in Shushire, lol. So I used free Vern pass on an alt, then got Feiton Pass for ~$30 (which came with 960 gear), and then knowledge transferred over the next day to my main.

Convoluted as hell but it was extremely worth it for me, lol
