I always preferred the special honing. One of my alts did 1720 => 1733 this way since november, the other alts 1729-1726.

i liked the T reset spam boss fights more than the current ones on characters with meter
cause now it's basically all about getting the meter gen RNG going so you can cast your T skill before G
and if your meter doesn't instantly fill up on your first spell it's an immediate restart
since there's no point in bothering to try
with space spam T resets there was enough room for good RNG to happen later that this could be somewhat mitigated
but right now it's basically:
