Hello, I’ve got a quick question.

I’m coming back to the game after 2 years and I’d like to avoid the same issues that made me quit before—mainly gatekeeping.
To sum it up: I used to play 6 DPS characters and ended up spending more time looking for groups than actually playing.

Now I’m wondering: is it better to build alts as supports to bypass gatekeeping, or focus on DPS that can quickly clear new solo content (especially the solo raids)? I even heard that nowadays there are actually more supports than DPS, and that the situation has flipped (especially with the release of Valkyrie) — though I’m not sure if that’s true. I also heard that Smilegate might be planning to add AI teammates to fill groups, which would mean gatekeeping could disappear entirely in the near future, allowing me to comfortably play a full roster of 6 DPS without issues. Not sure how reliable that info is though.

My goal is to optimize the farming efficiency of my roster. I don’t want to waste hours stuck in lobbies anymore.

PS: I know the general advice is to “just play what you enjoy,” and I’ll do that for my main. But for my alts, I’d rather minimize the time investment since their only purpose is to support my main’s progression.
