@swift tree could explain it better ||but basically the haals war is implied to be related to kazeros at multiple points throughout the story, the thing is antares gets punished after the haals war and we dont exactly know what happened to him he sorta just disappears, however all the deaths from the haals war weakened the barrier between arkesia and petrania which led to zosma decididng to try to merge arkesia and petrania, during this war is when kazeros begins to emerge int eh abyss the timeline of antares disappearing and kazeros forming lines up basically perfectly, and because we now know brelshaza herself is a haal it makes a lot of sense that he is actually antares.||

The game is pay2win but no content is locked behind a pay wall. You can still get by as free to play. You just have to put time into the game. Basically, every other MMO that exists on the market. Difference with Lost Ark is that when you swipe, you are just expediting progress. The gear progression in this game is akin to Black Desert Online, but more forgiving and eaiser to understand.
