for hunger reaper
you want to get used to prioritizing your skills (i got some bad habits in that department so despite pulling decent results, still improving)
you have a couple of skills that take you exactly where you aim with them, so you want to get used to be precise with your cursor placement
and some movement skills move you fixed distance, optionally sending you in the opposite direction of where you are aiming, so need to get used to that as well
all of that and you're pretty much pure uptime class so the sooner you get back to hitting boss once it moves the better, you don't have burst-ish class privelege where you can afk for a while and still do alright

it's... fine, I guess. Hunger is indeed really spammy class, rather simple during prog (learning new raids) but not the easiest in my opinion, offers insane mobility.
Hunger does have some complexity to it, though. And Z skill mentioned you don't have access to from the very beginning
All the damage talk... get used to the class, and game in general first, then, once you get the grip on the basics, that stuff can be discussed

so my advice is
get to doing solo raids asap, starting with valtan at 1415 ilvl (powerpass will get you to like 1585 or smth)
you'll get the feeling how much of a bitch this game is at times, how it requires you to know a 10 minute encounter (which a complete raid can have from 2 to 4) in and out, etc etc

so it'll be easier when you get to an actual prog of an 4man or 8man raid

we have paralysis (you get moved), push (you get knocked down), sorts of control ("earthquake", electrocution), grabs, and while there's some sort of consistency, you can get scammed from time to time.
There're patterns that are not telegraphed aside from boss animation, grabs that are telegraphed with red telegraphs, grabs that pull you out of hyperawakening despite hyperawakening being highest tier of immunity (practically saying "fuck off" to anything except for arena desctruction)
Telegraphs are not very reliant and you'll learn it from practice

the pace of this game is also different then soulslikes, like you know how in soulslikes creating distance and then taking advantage of certain windows for damage/poking and proding is a valid strat? thats not so much the case of lost ark, lost ark in terms of pacing is more similar to something like khazan kinda in terms of the pace is fast and you have to be dpsing and pressuring the boss.
