Theres also solo mode raids up until 2 raids before the most current content, and they keep releasing them also so solo mode lets you experience the combat (the fight is quite a bit easier) but it lets you learn at your own pace as well.

currently theres a powerpass that lets you skip to 1585 which is close to the start of t4 which is like the current content, then theres an express event that helps you hone to 1660 (it still takes a few weeks) which lets you do Act 1 of the current raid lineup.
you can also play naturally throughout the entire game do but it takes a lot longer
