your gold per week barely increases and your power barely increases, meanwhile staying at 1680 allows you to not even fill out your karma
saving you a ton of gold, you won't have 20 advanced honing done at that point either, so everything mordum gives is useless (won't cost any gold either)
but the moment you start pushing above that you gotta go finish karma for like 400k, then start doing very expensive advanced honing too

and despite the raid being 6 months away putting resources into alts to get them beyond 1680 is not going to have much of a pay off

The thing is that you can't just join a static for day1 prog. You still need to build on your chemistry with them through the existing raids. Given decent gear and some hands, unless they're all sweatlords and you're not, most statics are fine.
