I think it's different in a more fundamental way. In WoW people bought carries with gold (or RMT), but the carry itself didn't generate significant gold, it just dropped gear that we didn't need or a mount we already had -- things that would get DE'd anyway. We had the DPS to easily 17 man bosses, so we got gold to pay for consumes for the next tier, and they got all the loot. In Lost Ark, clearing the raid is a core part of your resource acquisition, not just getting gear upgrades. It affects everything.
