Let me give an example off the top of my recent memory where something was a grey area in ToS/EULA and was later specifically clarified.

GW2 has a dodge mechanic, it also worked in a way where you could consistently do something called "jump dodging" which was the result of precisely pressing jump + dodge key simultaneously. Doing this had advantages because normally your dodge is slowed just slightly from the characters normal run speed thus resulting in you being a bit slower when dodging and not traveling as far with the dodge movement. This was not necessarily an intended feature but it was just a consequence of how things were designed in the game.

ANet also had the standard "macros are not to be used for game automation" legal speak in their ToS/EULA however they did nothing to action against people macroing for jump dodging via things like autohotkey or third party peripheral software (icue, logitech, razer synapse, etc). This was the case for a long time.

Cut to a few years back and ANet updated their ToS to specifically state that macroing for jump dodging was completely okay.

From what I understood was "you can make roster on same server" but, then you need another account, and I'd think multi-accounting like that is also gray/not ok. but I'd have to check more into that.

I wouldn't think it would go that far, but I do think AGS will update ToS/EULA agreements at some point and this is sort of typical as these kinds of games have an ever evolving ecosystem and clarity can be important, but also acknowledging that grey areas exist and its likely best not to punish people for something overall not that serious so long as it does not overstep other lines.

Which is precisely what multi-account stuff would be doing. Also no company is going to ever be okay with RMT as it loses them money.

Yeah, but false positives happen quite a bit with AGS's systems. There were several instances of players who only played for like 3 days on launch coming back and were banned because of a false positive in their system.

Ultimately the state of the economy involves a lot more factors than just people who play multiple rosters. It contributes, but this is something that happened previously and the 6 gold char limit alleviated it to a point but this game has both power creep and economy creep and we're likely to see something implemented at some point in the future that may be in an attempt to curb gold costs in the market.

I'd argue It's a pretty big factor with the increase of multi-roster's and more notable afk-multi-roster's joining behemoth and other raid's since that also pumps in a ton of gold that should have never been made in the first place.
