As a support main, the only motivation for me to play this game is to see how well I’m doing compared to my past self.
The meter gave us instant gratification, letting us compare our performance with past runs while everything was still fresh in our minds—helping us improve much faster. I could instantly see how well I performed, reflect on what I did right or wrong on the pattern 2 mins ago, and teach myself to get better.
From what I’ve observed, banning the DPS meter only gives the Korean developers (not you, AGS) two advantages:
- They can get away with less strict class balancing, basically cutting corners and reducing quality.
- They cater to whale players who only care about spending money rather than focusing on improving their skills.
But for new players like me, this patch only makes our environment worse. Now, the only way people will judge you is by roster level, cards, and other things that give new players like me no way to catch up, even though we've been asking for a solution.
As someone who has only been playing for six months, with a low roster (under 150) and incomplete cards but who’s still reached endgame, I’ve experienced gatekeeping over and over. I’ve asked myself: why do I keep playing this game despite the gatekeeping, the tough learning curve, and the insane time investment just to clear the same content again and again?
Because at least I could see myself growing alongside my character.
I watched myself go from having a 30-30 uptime as a support to 50-50, 80-80, and now over 95. One of my best memories in this game was getting praise from my friends after we beat a tough boss together.
