i think one of the biggest problems for lost ark

is how limited your gold and materials earning is

there's no "competition" for your time like many other games

as a result to keep up with everyone else you have to do everything every week

also the good players will try to find everye dge they can get, ie busing

i've been thinking that p2w is probably one of the worst aspects of this game

because it dictates so much of the design of progression

smilegate can't hand us easy progression because people won't buy gold/materials

gold will always be made scarce, if players get too much gold then smilegate will walk out a new gold sink

if players have too many materials then smilegate walks a material sink out there (eg 1600 required for akkan hard with insane resources required to reach it before akkan gear)
