You are not going to be doing crazy damage at your item level. And you are shadowhunter. Even perfect supression doesn't show 'massive numbers', just a higher ceiling because it dishes out more damage per second. I have a demonic shadowhunter in my main 6, it's 1620. It does decent damage but will never compete with Breaker, Sorc, etc.

Well main swapping is not ideal unless your character is at a low item level. But shadowhunter is a class I would recommend to any new player. Other options that are easy to pick up: Predator Slayer, Machinist, Souleater, Wardancer, Taijustu Scrapper. Every option I listed besides Machinist does solid competitive damage,
