You probably did season and after season all season gear(that only season characters can use) gets converted to normal gear that all characters can use, thus if you didn't get it to PEN tuvala(which is equal to TET boss gear) you can't enhance anymore also usually you get 1 coupon that allows you to change 1 tuvala gear into boss gear. Also once you do use coupon and exchange it for boss gear your enhancement will be one lower then tuvala example for your battle axe being TRI > DUO Kzarka axe(boss gear), but now you have the option to enhance it again.
