it affects most weapons.
It can be unfortunate for weapons that load 1 round at a time (small revolver) as youll be shoving like 19 rounds into a 8 round cylinder and makes a full reload take ages. (the triple barrel will also just shove more rounds into obviously filled barrels.)
I understand it doesn't work, and it makes sense it doesn't. I just bought it up to make sure it was a design choice and not a bug.
what do you mean it doesnt work? like it isnt increasing ammo for you as described?
On Xbox so far all the “magazine size boosts” have applied to all weapons (for myself).
if it isnt working for you; what weapons have you noticed it not working on and what item or flaw is supposed to be applying it?

at least with the cowboy hat i was getting 4 shots instead of 3
Was it after the patch today? And what percentage is the cowboy hat? Because I don't expect an extra shot from 15% when the base is 3 lol
let me hop on my old save and check the hat, and whether they altered it (😥hope not)
I haven't tried since the 24th, moved on to other mods

30% on the hat,
+overprepped flaw
5 rounds in triple barrel
dunno about trench i keep making new saves before i leave paradise bc min maxing and testing skills
Well its 8 for the 30%, I don't have overprepped, but I'm going to assume 1 more

i will say (hot take) - part of me wishes that the revolver and triple barrel didnt get affected by magazine boosts bc the reloads are painfully slow with the extra animations
overprepared should be 50% boost (so half of the default added) and cowboy hat being 30 probably rounds down as well unfortunately
I don't disagree, from a design aspect, a Three barrel shotgun having 5 rounds is ridiculous lol
in the animation im pretty sure you literally just put a shell over the existing ones and it kills my OCD - at least with the lever action and id assume the trench I wouldnt see it happen.
I will say they payed attention and I like that an empty reload on the lever action has you chamber the first round before you continue loading (some games forget this)

all in all Id say if you do want bigger “magazines” id highly recommend taking the Overprepared Flaw if you didnt reject it already
just so long as you never let it hit zero
Only flaw I liked so far was Luddite
Minus 25% Energy recharge and max gadget meter for +10% dmg resistance... My build is mostly around raw damage and I don't use gadgets mid combat
over prepared is fine for precise/slower weapons where you likely arent mag dumping,
bad knees hasnt negatively affected me for the 30% crouch movement boost
idk that ive given any other flaws a real shot bc the trade offs for the rest seem detrimental in the long run
