can't seem to get the quest "an untimely end" to end?.. like i completed all the requirements but it just sits in my journal and i can't continue the story

Might get a little spoilery.. did you speak with the ambassador (after killing a boss monster?)

Great, and then where did you go next:

  • Did you walk out of the Strangleroot?
  • Did you fast travel?

Oh, and did you interact with the Adra (green stone) and have a conversation with 'The Voice'?

So the order of events should have been:

  1. Kill the bear
  2. Talk to the amabassador
  3. Interact with the Adra to speak with 'The Voice'
  4. Walk out of the Strangleroot (using a different path than you entered, involved hopping on some stones over water/a waterfall)

Did that all happen? If not, the best fix would be to go back and see if a step was missed, which might have skipped a trigger to advance the quest.

Ok, you might just want to re-load a save from before the arrow. I suspect the cutscene's didn't trigger correctly.

If you're level 8.. maybe you're much further than I thought. Could you screenshot that quest in the journal for me?

Try talking to the ambassador again. See if he gives you another dialog option than before which should end that quest and start the next one.

Hi! I'm also on the QA team at Obsidian - Would you be able to save again in front of him, check the save folder again, and see if there's a save from the exact time you saved? The one you sent has the player still in the Strangleroot.

We're still looking at the scripting of this - the only workaround I can suggest at the moment is to reload an earlier save, and possibly choose different dialogue options when doing so. We're wondering if maybe an option somewhere is missing the scripting to advance the quest. Apologies for the inconvenience of this as well.

okay i got through that time, not sure what exactly happened that was different.

getting the same issue even after following the steps above, ambassador never shows up in Paradis. is there any hope of a patch that would fix this so I don't need to restart? also level 8, completed all side quests in the first area and really don't want to restart :/

@civic current would you be able to make a save, then check C:\Users%username%\Saved Games\Avowed the .sav file that was created when you saved, and send that file here?

mst recent save that i COULD go to is 5 hours behind and I absolutely will not do that

@potent sun would you be able to make a save, then check C:\Users%username%\Saved Games\Avowed the .sav file that was created when you saved, and send that file here? That way I can check some variables on my end and see where our scripting went wrong.
