#Can't find executable for Aesprite Importer

I know this is quite the long shot and I fear there may just be a huge mistake on my end, but I can not seem to track down where the .EXE for Aesprite Importer went so I can make it work. I installed it through Godot. I've checked Steam folders, and tried searching just "asep" through my entire PC, and checked my C: drive. Nothing. I've also tried reinstalling it through Godot. Any advice?

Did you install an aseprite importer plugin in Godot from the AssetLib?

The godot plugins usually don't come with an exe file, they should add some code files to the project you import them into in a folder called "addons"

Are you sure you're not looking for the Aseprite app executable?

#

Generally these importer plugins need to know where the actual app is so that they can remote control it to export files.

You need to give it the path to the Aseprite app executable or it won't be able to launch it to convert the files.

#

But the path depends on where you put Aseprite on your computer.

How do you normally launch Aseprite?

It's a plug in through Godot?

blazing umbra

No, Aseprite itself, the pixel art drawing program.

Oh, well that might explain my issue

The only point of using that plugin is if you want to import artwork made in Aseprite.

I don't have that, I was under the impression I just needed a plug in to import sprite sheets I got from itch.io

Oh, no, it's unrelated.

#

It's only useful if you have an .aseprite file.

Okay, thank you so much @blazing umbra 😂 I feel a bit stupid

#

I do have the .aseprite files

Oh, maybe still useful then, but you will need to install the app.
