As this right now is still a maybe and I don't know if this position will actually exist, I try to not get too much into details, so please don't put too much effort into replying to this.
However: I have a project with a budget and I am currently considering hiring a person with godot experience to support me in programming and also to contribute to godot.
Because my current project that is almost done has shown me that I know enough about coding to be dangerous but I don't want to be left to my own devices and I also would love to work with someone that can actually help me fix and debug engine bugs/limitations.
If you are contributing in your spare time, maybe you can do some of that on your day job? Let me know if that sound like a cool arrangement, especially only if you are located in Germany (Mitteldeutschland).
Edit: Today I leanrned that our funding will get cut if you do not come from this region.
But please don't write resumes or make arrangements yet. I am testing if there is interest in this and I would need to finalize some stuff with our producer still.
FAQ:
Level of Experience: This would be a more senior position. You won't need to manage a team, but you will need to be able to support me and I've shipped two games as a solo dev.
The Project: Faster than Light meets Dysco Elysium. Right now it is planned to be a 3D project but 3D related stuff will mostly be my responsibility. I need support in building systems, handling inputs, save games, asset management, building unit tests, planning a sensible and maintainable code-base. You get to start from a blank slate. We can pivot scope depending on your strenghts and interests.
Pay/Location/etc again ... I don't know yet if this position will be created. I am testing the waters to see if people are interested in this arrangement to see if I can plan for it. Main question is: can you support me move not only my project but also some hurleds/limitations with godot.
