@tulip fiber Hi, I have a few questions:
- what is the name of your studio, is it formally incorporated?
- what is the game you're trying to make? Have you decided on genre or narrative?
- it sounds like you want to pay on an hourly basis, what range of hourly pay might I expect?
Yes, can you please provide some information about your company, and what we can expect working for you?
@tulip fiber Would love to hear more about the project/studio. But I am interested and believe my past experience matches your expectations, I'm sending my CV on your dm's if that's okay.
I'm interested. Here's my portfolio: https://8bitprodigy.github.io/
this seems sketch
Fr a lot of these posts are kinda stupid with either insane requirements for a below avg pay range or just a project that will never be made into even a prototype with people that have never or barely worked on games.
This post is basically asking whoeveres hired to do everything under the sun to make this bums game unfortunately
@elfin nexus I have a general policy of not responding to negative posts. Normal the party responds more hostilely and will continue endlessly to defend their position which is never good. Most Indie developers are generalist. Due to the tremendously interdisciplinary nature of producing a video game, a small team is often required to "wear multiple hats" in order to aid the production of the title. In reality I have to some degree accept the responsibility of wearing many of them and understand how to wear the others or at the very least understand if a person is "wearing the hat" correctly. Which isn't easy. Some people have a desire to "wear the hat" and if I feel their past experience and attitude is good enough or strong enough I will let them try it on. Honestly most fail but unfortunately it is part of the process. Motivation is important to me. If a person is unwilling to view the project or the other people time as important or valuable enough to devote 5-8 hours a day I would prefer not to work with them. I work very quickly and spending 2-3 hours once a week to update a person because they can only work and update project 3 days a week just doesn't work for me. Having aspects of the project tied down for 4 days really hinders development in the early iterations of the project.
You didn’t refute what I said and I still believe what I said to be true. There’s no relevant information in your post about payment. Ofc your not going to get any worthwhile people to help if your not even displaying what your willing to pay. And saying your an “independent game studio” is ridiculous if you don’t have any previous games you can showcase. Your just trying to say your something that your not. Unfortunately I’m beating a corpse at this point but you’re not going to get or deserve any worthwhile applicants if you have no history or displaying anything relevant to the project. Just hopes and dreams to make a game is not going to cut it for anyone worthwhile.
nobody is complaining about you asking for a generalist. its really sketchy that you are offering full time employment without so much as linking to the project or talking about any details what so ever. it gives off major scam vibes. you dont even say what the employing entity would be.
I will do programming for 40$/hr, I don't do art, design or anything else. DM if interested
That is very general. Do you have any experience in custom render pipelines or shaders in godot?
No, shaders are art. I stay far away from them.
i have some experience with shaders (y prefer compute shaders). But the only in art
Is it "a minimum of 8 hours per day" or is it "5-8 hours a day"
I wouldn't trust a single aspect of this until they say what the studio is at minimum.
The guy blocked me pretty shady posts he’s done on here
