Played with shaders and colors
Vaulting
This looks really cool. I have one question though, do you increase the chromatic aberration when moving fast or dashing? It looks like it at seconds 8 and 13
yes, is it to subtle?
No, I would say that it's good. Does the effect get stronger proportionally to the speed? That could maybe look nice, but I am no expert.
thanks for the feedback!
don't mind my arms...
Dude! That's sweet? What shaders are you using to get this effect? I notice brightness, dithering and chromatic aberration?
your right! i also use a screen cavity shader
that's about it
Whoa what's that? Never heard of a cavity shader
there you go
SIck. So cavity highlights edges?
Juicy Hands!
yo, this looks super cool!
thanks!
looks cool overall, but i think that the hands look weird in this setting. something like how white knuckle does it would look better i think (i may be wrong tho)
Aim assist!
Rate my new enemy 🥵
No idea what it is but I love and fear it
He's a rock with extremely good skin care routines
I hate the fact that you’re right. Cuz that is what you described it as
Also btw I’m loving the shader you have!
For the screen and stuff
Me like
Is it like a shader you found online or one you made yourself?
i made it myself combined with some online shaders
Neat! I like it
I'm making quite a wierd game here...
Oh dear god………. Shoot it. Shoot it now
i'm trying, he won't budge
he wanna kiss or something 💋
Sad
Probably considering the size of bros lips
i love him
he's taken sorry
i worked on the enviroment a little more
just optimized my game so it runs at 60 fps at 2k resolution
i'm only using i think 280 by 210 pixels
that's a win!
are you just rotating the camera for the shake or changing the position as well ?
rotating only!
can you give me some tips on how to juice up your game ? your game's camera is manipulated a lot in respect to player's motion, some things i can notice are z rotation sway when looking, camera bob, and screen shake
Just feedback, something as simple as when you rotate the camera, you give feedback to it, which will add more juice! or when you land, the camera dips down a little bit before going back up. it's pretty simple but effective
I also added theese columns!
i'm grabbing a cylinder
this looks super cool!
this is why i love gamedev its because of stuff like this lmaoo
finished some more work today, got exam the whole week so no progress
the graphics look sick!
these past few days, im working on performance so it can run on a potato, im using mac so it's already a potato but ya know
sorry if footage laggy, the games gets slower everytime i record
free handpic!
Soda Cans are now throwable!
the soda cans should explode
good idea!
I love this
we got aim assist on CANS! yipee
Jolt physics is great! i tried to use godot physics and it dropped down to 30-45 fps max 😭 , just changed it to jolt physics and ran great at 3k resolution 👍
i'm never using 3k resolution, but it was a good benchmark
i just added a bunch enemies to the game
my computer was taking off so i have to do some more performance optimizations
made a little "SOFT COLLISION" function
and fustrum culling
some better lod tweaks
and the guys won't work offscreen
now it ran from 3-5 fps (yes i tested) to 50-60
before and after
Hey guys, a little sad update, my MacBook updated (out of my control, I forgot to turn off auto update), and since I don't have any git pages for this project, the game file unfortunately got washed away. I tried everything, including using Disk Drill and Time Machine. But in the end, nothing works. I will be working on a small new game that will hopefully make it to release. Thank you for your support! It meant a lot to me 😿
Omg sorry to hear that. You can always consider the time spent on it as learning new stuff, so it's not wasted in any case. But I understand this sucks. This looked like a really fun project, so you can consider starting it again at some point? In any case do use version control, it's really easy to set up. And you'll be having history of everything in case something stops working and you cant figure out why. Good luck with the new project! 👍
awhe man im really sorry to hear that
i'm now working on a brand new project with version control. so hopefully i won't losse all of my progress
Yeah it is completely vital, it's not just progress but sometimes you mess up stuff yourself or Godot messes up. Then you can just go back or at least check what changed.
also with git you never have to comment out code, you can always just view version history in any decent IDE if you eventually need that code you would have commented out
hey guys
HUGE UPDATE
i'm reworking on the project
i just found all the asset folders, no scenes, no script, just the sprites and stuff
i don't know how its still there
but i'm currently working on the base movement and the arms rn
yipee! :3
alright guys, i've been really busy with school n stuff, but i got some updates... the basic movement is now complete and feels way better & snappier than the old movement :) i'm proud of it
ok guys
here is some progress update!!!
i've been like really busy with school
but i managed to squeeze some time out for this little project :)
thanks yall for following these updates
halo... i was wondering how you did the bouncy hands... ik it was some spring physics equation, but can you shake a peek of the code ?
Love the bouncy movements when exiting/entering crouching. Def implementing that in my schmovement game. Great work!
dear god..
