You can set up a contract that both parties sign, so everyone is contractually obligated to do their work. If they breahc the contract you have good ground to sue someone. Plus most times(not always ofc, since they can hope you don't sue) scammers are deterred since they don't want to bind themselves obviously

i think the idea is getting the work done more quickly and for a lower cost overall. i can find people on upwork or fiverr to do this kind of stuff with more of a guarantee

Using sites like these works as well, obv. But with 'random' people on a dicsord scamming isn't that rare sadly.
