Hey ! My name is Liam. I am a 14 years old game developper who trie to make his dream Come true.

I want to create a chill city builder game like island or kindom and castle for peoples who know

I am strugluling beacause of multiple things

1: should i make my game 2d or 3d ? I think 3d look better personally especially for city building games. But i already strugle on 2d so its hard to know how i will be in 3d.

2: i am verry New to game developing. I found Godot verry interesting beacause of his simplicity for Begginers but for the moment its not a. Verry popular engine so tuto are hard to find.

3: i am 14 years old. (Yeah that a problem). I am young so i am verry inpatient and its hard to stick with a project.

4: 1st Time i am really learning smtg seriously so i really dont know how to learn things.

I Hope someone could help me. Thank you for who will. And have fun gdthumbsup

We all been there, its a long way.
So first you'll need to struggle to learn and gain experience.
Start with something very small and go wild testing it, the more you test and explore, the more you'll learn.
Try to write a small prototype and improve from there.

Making a game and releasing is very very complex.
3D is more complex than 2D, which is already complex.
And some 2D games are amazingly complex and can convey much more information and fun than 3D counter parts. Check "Songs of Syx", 100% 2D game with 3D effects like lighting and shadows.

If you dont know where to start, simple: tutorials.
Copy, modify, test it, repeat.

It is not possible to make your dream game on the first attempt, but you can make simplified or mini versions of it

#

For now, you have to focus on learning. A simple city builder in 2D might be a good way to start

#

After a couple of projects, when you understand the engine and programming practices a bit more, it would be a better idea to tackle a complicated game

That will be more doable, but still quite difficult. Good luck!

1: how about a hybrid? You would have a multiple layers, each higher would have x,y offset to create a depth and 3rd dimension illusion. This would open you a gate to base game around upgrading a buildings, where upgrades would just be seen through height of the building.
2: don't be afraid of making separate mini projects for experimention. All things considered, it will be hard if you don't know any programing language.
3: don't force yourself into crunch, as well as go step by step achieving smaller goals than going for a big one.
4: My best advice is avoiding huge disappointments on your Godot journey
